YBP Makeup Perfector in Lust - Review & Price

Hi beauties,

As we all know beauty/makeup world is being bombarded with a number of beauty blender which comes in different size, shape & color, a good BB can entirely change your makeup experience. Recently I have come across a new beauty makeup perfector from the brand YBP- Your Beauty Pal! It's a new launch in the month of June & since that day it has become the most rave product in the Indian market & a topic of discussion among all makeup beauty gurus. Read on to find out more:

Price : Rs. 999/-

Availability : ybpcosmetics.com

Packaging : YBP makeup perfector comes in a multi-functional travel container. It is really travel friendly packaging, comes in cylindrical plastic container with brand name imprinted on it. This container has tiny holes which made it so unique & classy to surpass air for the wet sponge to dry easily while you are on travel or otherwise. It also comes with a round tin lid which is used to pour your liquid foundation for instant use, can be wash to use it all over again.

Colors Available : It comes in two color- white & black. White named as naked while Black named as lust. I picked up Lust!

My take on the product :

The moment I had this in my hand, it felt super soft & cushiony. It has perfect tear drop shape, latex free which makes this perfector inimitable. When it is dry, it is small in size - when it gets wet it enlarges & becomes a size bigger. Squeeze all the excess water and wait for ten minutes to use this for liquid or cream based products. See the pic below :

YBP makeup perfector seamlessly blends any makeup means whether it liquid or powder foundation, concealer, blush, compacts, highlighter onto your skin using dabbing motion without leaving your skin cakey or heavy, skin feels like it has no makeup on it which is really commendable for this humid weather & I was amazed by how flawless makeup base it has created, you can see that in pictures below.

The tip shape can be use for concealer application in the inner corner & round base shape can be use for liquid or powder foundation application. It can be best used for contouring as well. Using this for past two weeks & washed couple of times after use it hasn't torn or changed it's shape. This has become my HG makeup perfector from past few days. Since it is easy to wash & the unique storage container makes it really effortless to air dry on its own. I don't own the original beauty blender so can't compare this but it is far much better than real techniques miracle sponge.

Final Thoughts : YBP makeup perfector in lust has become my HG beauty blender because of its ultimate cushiony & spongy texture. It comes with one of a kind multi-functional container which has holes in it so that you can keep your cleaned & washed makeup perfector for air dry on its own. A complete way to use any base makeup product! Without any second thought I would highly recommend this to every makeup lover! Thank You Payal!
Get these from there website which I have linked above.

Will I repurchase : A definite Yes! Will be stocking up Naked this time.

GC Rating : 5/5

Kala Chasma Featuring Katrina Kaif Makeup Look - Movie Baar Baar Dekho

Hey everyone,

Ever since I have seen the song Kala Chasma featuring Katrina Kaif & Siddharth Malhotra from the movie Baar Baar Dekho, I was stunned by Katrina's dance moves & her toned body. She is looking outstanding & I was intrigued to replicate her Green bindi & Kala Chasma look.

In the song most of times she is wearing kala chasma (as the song theme) & we couldn't see her eye makeup properly but in the middle of the song there is little bit glimpse of her eye makeup where I think it is soft subtle brown smokey eye without any hint of liner with light peachy pink lips. So here is my makeup breakdown below:

1) Prep your eye lid with eye cream & wait for few minutes. Add a touch of concealer to even out the skin tone.

2) Take the shade Drama from Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 palette on blending brush & blend well in the crease.

3) In this step take the shade Afflicted from the same palette on eye shadow brush & apply it all over the lid.

4) Blend well both the colors using a little bit of shade Drama on blending brush.

5) In this step apply the Inglot freedom system eye shadow no. 421 on the outer part of the lid using eye shadow brush.

6) Again blend it well so that there are no harsh edges.

7)  This look has no liner so instead of that I just lined my upper lashline using Lakme eyeconic brown kajal & with the angled liner brush fill the gaps remaining using the shade Pitch from the same palette as it is matte black shade.

8) In this step I lined my lower lash line using the same Lakme brown kajal & smudged it with the shade Drama & Afflicted using a smudger brush.

9) Applied a little bit more concealer on my under eye, highlighted the inner corner using the shade Need from the same palette, filled my brows using the shade afflicted, applied Green bindi & sindoor & completed the look with lots of mascara.

10) The finished look!

Have a look on the pictures!

Top 5 Brown Eyeliner/Kajal in India : Review, Price & Swatches

Hey everyone,

Hope you all are enjoying beautiful monsoon weekend! So, today I will be talking about my top favourite brown eyeliners/kajals. Actually I prefer colored liners when in mood to play with colors & brown is my top pick because it looks really subtle yet classy, could be smoked out to give you soft smokey look especially in summers, I conventionally stop using black eyeliners/kajals in order to avoid panda eyes in this hot & humid weather but bronzy brown is the exquisite shade for fair to medium complexions ladies. To find out more nitty-gritty which are my top picks, read on..

Rimmel London Scandaleyes - 003 Bad Girl Bronze (Rs 415)

This is such a beautiful bronze shade which is my cult favourite as an eye shadow base. Its a thick pencil with transparent cap and colored end. Its a little bit on drier side which makes it really tough to smudge once set but shade is so pretty that I have been using this since last 8-10 months. The only drawback is the product wastage while sharpening and mine pencil is on other level means the colored stick has come out from the pencil, now I'm wondering how will I use it, other than that it is affordable shade, easily available on flipkart & nykaa. See swatch below :

Bourjois Paris Contour Clubbing Waterproof - 49 Crazy About Brown (Rs 445)

This is a little bit similar to rimmel's one in context of texture. Its a sleek long colored body pencil which could be easily come across in your makeup stash. It is so comely shade which contain a bit a gold tint to it (see swatch below), have been using this on my waterline. The only drawback with these wooden kajals is the product wastage while sharpening. I think the price is quite affordable and it is the best option for fair skinned ladies to highlight the waterline.

Lakme Eyeconic - Brown (Rs 199)

Lakme eyeconic range has been the most raved kajal in the Indian market but my all time favourite is the shade brown. I'm on my third kajal , damn so addicted to this. It comes in black colored sleek retractable pencil form which is the best way to avoid product wastage. Talking about texture, its soft but sets quickly so one has to smudge it really fast in order to have smokey eye. If you have dry lids, I would suggest you to prime up your lids then it will spread easily without tugging. It stays fairly whole day long without smudging or transferring to socket line. If you're on budget this is the best option. Easily available & quite affordable.

Colorbar Just Smokey - Just Brown (Rs 650)

Colorbar just smokey in shade just brown is such an alluring shade, perfect blend of copper, bronze & gold. It glides on so effortlessly & doesn't budge or smudge for the entire day. It comes in color coded wooden pencil with smudger at the other end. The only drawback is to sharpen the pencil which leads to product wastage, other than that this is my cult favourite. See swatch below:

Lakme Absolute Forever Silk - Earth Line (Rs 425)

As the name suggests forever silk, it is as emollient as silk, glides on like dream, super soft & highly pigmented among these. Lakme kajals comes in retractable pencils form which makes them outstanding & worth trying just because there is no product loss. Due to its silky texture, it can be smudge really effortlessly & stays on for quite long. Price-wise its quite reasonable. Here are the swatches below :

Final Verdict : I love using brown eyeliners in summers because they are not harsh like regular black liners/kajals. My personal favourite is Lakme eyeconic & Colorbar just smokey! Which one are your favourites? Please share your comments below!

Coming to the review - Its a transparent gel face wash, paraben free, has amiably fragrance, truly light & non-sticky. A pea size drop is enough to clean entire face. It lathers mildly well, cleanses any makeup residue, dirt & impurities without stripping of the skin, keeps the sebum oil in check. My take on the product :

Its a french brand and France has been famous for there spring water which heals sunburns, acne & acne redness. It is a light weight emollient cream which easily absorbs into the skin without making it greasy & shiny for hours. It really helped me in combating acne when I was on trip. You can see visible difference in your skin within a week, active acne tends to dry, redness around my inner cheeks has calm down, acne scars start fading a bit, kept control on whiteheads & blackheads too. I'm glad I gave this a try, it seriously soothes my skin and has been my HG cream this summer. Only a tiny amount of cream is required to cover the entire face and neck, 40ml tube can last you easily more than one & half month or depends upon how frequently you apply the cream or how inexorable is your acne. See swatch below :

Recommendations : Albeit the price tag is bit high and can be con for some of you but according to me you should splurge in products which gives you utmost result and I would highly recommend this range to all the girls especially teenagers who are suffering from acne due to hormonal changes. Its a sturdy packaging with brand name embedded on the cap, travel friendly but can't bear extra pressure while opening/closing. It doesn't have color coded encase which is the only qualm to categories the shade when you own more than one. They are allocated with shade numbers.

Texture: These are made of castor oil and bees wax which is very moisturizing on your lips. It has emollient feel, buttery soft, applies without tugging. Being winters around the corner I want my lipstick to be really balmy and with these I don't need to prep my lips beforehand. Dry lips beauties can easily give these a try because its a great combo of color+softness.

Pigmentation: Shade No. 14 is nicely pigmented, two swipes can give you true color. At this price point, pigmentation and texture is commendable. See swatches below.

Shade: This is such a beautiful earthy red color with a hint of pink which instantly brightens up my face. Its a warm-toned color, suits fair to medium skin tone. If you are looking for everyday wear color this is for you! I've paired this with turquoise dual winged eyeliner, pink blush. Since I got this I'm wearing this every other day.See above swatches to get a little idea.

Staying Power: Staying power is fairly good, it stayed on me for more than 4 hours between light snacking,  fades evenly, doesn't settle into fine lines because of its buttery texture. It too leaves a soft pink tint behind at the end of the day. I don't mind re-applying it to look fresh. Kudos to the brand for such lovely formula at this price point. Its a great deal for college going girls or those who have started wearing lipsticks lately and don't want to spend extra bucks.

Beauty Tips: 6 Eyebrow Mistakes You Should Avoid

Hey everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend with full of zeal and ardour. If you follow me, you know I'm an amateur in blogging and makeup field but crazy zealot at the same time. So while learning and executing the makeup tips I learned that the most part is your Eyebrows. They should be given proper timing to groom just like you prep your lips or eyes. Simultaneously there are many mistakes we should avoid or stop doing right away to keep off mortifying situation. So today I'm going to share with you 6 Eyebrow Mistakes should need to stop immediately.

Mistake #1 - Not Shaping Your Eyebrows Correctly With Shaping Rules.

The first and foremost mistake we often do is over-widening your eyebrow gap and taming dishevelled ends. Stop doing this and start following the shaping rules, 3 steps to follow as below. There should be perfectly arched in between, that doesn't mean 45 degree accurately or zero size arch but yes there should be some sort of eyebrow arch like instructed in image.

Mistake #2 - Moisturizing Your Eyebrows

By above I mean to say that you shouldn't treat your brows like skin and apply creams/moisturizer over them, they are hair follicles just like hair on scalp. When you don't apply any kind of creams on head then eyebrow should be treated the same way. Application of cream/serum can cause hair to fall and prevents growth. This is the most important tip I learned!

Mistake #3 -  Waxing/Threading Your Brows

This is an ultimate learning, threading the delicate area can lead to sagging of skin and unsolicited ingrown which looks weird in future, instead start using tweezer, which helps in plucking a single hair at a time and precise plucking helps to maintain the natural arch and prevents the risk of over-plucking!

Mistake #4 - Going Overboard

As we all know market is full of eye brow pencils and kits. Every girl dreams to have perfectly arched shaped brow. That mean they're not intended to be loaded with tons of product, use a shade like brown or gray, black is a big no no! Rather go for black-brown. Go bold but not too bold. Hold your angled brush/brow pencil like a feather weight and just do light strokes to cover the gaps, maintain the naturalness despite looking artificial tattoo. See image below to understand what I mean!

Mistake #5 - Over Tweezing

Over tweezing is the commom mistake we do and have to regret later, using a magnifying mirror and too much lighting can lead you to over-plucking of hair which result you lose the arch of your brow. Second thing, do not tweeze the top edge of your brows instead go for threading or stick to pluck the underneath.

Mistake #6 - Plucking Before a Shower/Bath

If you're ready for shower or hot bubble bath, avoid plucking your brows beforehand. Being entice to pluck can cause your delicate skin to stretch, alternatively do it later because added heat and moisture onto your skin makes it real easy to take out pesky hair gently and nicely.

Remember, "Your brows should be sister, not twins", this is the beauty mantra that shouldn't be ignore. Very few have symmetrical faces including eyebrows, so don't worry just follow the correct procedure to get that arch and precise shape.
These were the effective tips I learned lately and thought to share it with you people who are beginners or teen, college going girls.

Hope this helps you a bit!
If you have any of your tips for brows, do share with me in comments below! I would love to read :)
